The Sibar Institute of Dental Sciences is a leading centre of excellence in oral health care, recognised nationally for graduate and post-graduate specialist training. SIDS offers an excellent education for a career in dentistry. The curriculum is forward looking and innovative. The program is designed to graduate a doctor of dental medicine who will be prepared to practice general dentistry. It is anticipated that the general practitioner of the future must be able to deliver a wider range of services to a more diverse population than has been the case in the past. For this reason, the curriculum includes clinical experience with a variety of special patient groups which represent the disciplines of geriatrics, implantology, oncology, cosmetic dentistry, restorative dentistry etc.

SIDS is recognized by Dental Council of India and Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India and affiliated to Dr. N.T.R University of Health Sciences, one of the strongest universities. It is the first choice for graduate and post graduate education and training for progressive dental personnel state and nationwide who want quality education and training.

Leaders of the profession - outstanding clinicians, lecturers and professors of national repute - are on the staff of the SIDS. Few are members of international, and national bodies, editors of various dental journals, or are examiners at the various Colleges and in other universities nationwide.

Under the tutelage of highly trained and productive professors, the student acquires a solid foundation in the biomedical sciences. This knowledge forms the basis for understanding the wide variety of diseases that a dentist must diagnose and treat; it also forms the foundation for the effective practice of preventive dentistry. Skillful and experienced clinical lecturers/professors guide the student in acquiring technical skills and developing clinical judgement. Instructors with qualifications in the basic and clinical sciences assist the student in applying basic science knowledge to clinical problems. This integrated system of instruction results in a broadly trained clinician with a strong biomedical background.

Situated very near to Guntur city, the college has the benefit of a large pool of patients who seek dental treatment at its clinics. Additional training in patient care is gained during assignments at affiliated hospitals and at externship sites in various locations. SIDS has strong academic tie-ups with a number of major teaching hospitals including Guntur Medical College & Hospital, NRI Medical College & Hospital, Sibar Dental Care and Research Centre and Sibar Cancer Hospital.
