1. On the 30th of October, the Institute hosted another Zonal CDE of Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, in the speciality of Pediatric Dentistry. The speakers were – Dr. Uma – Associate Professor, Dept. of Psychiatry, Guntur Medical College, Guntur; Dr. Tirupathi Reddy – Associate Professor, Dept. of Pediatrics, GGH, Guntur; Dr. P. Udaya Kumar – Prof. & HOD, Dept. of Conservative Dentistry, Army Dental College, Hyderabad; & Dr. Sridevi – Senior Lecturer, Dept. of Pedodontics, SIBAR. Staff & Postgraduates from SIBAR, St. Joseph’s Dental College, & Drs. Sudha & Nageswara Rao Dental College attended the Programme.

Staff & Postgraduates from SIBAR, St. Joseph’s Dental College, & Drs. Sudha & Nageswara Rao Dental College attended the Programme.

3.On the 10th of October 2011, a new face of the students at SIBAR was known to the world by way of their debating talents through a wonderful programme organized by Mr. Radha Krishna, the Director of ABN Andhra Jyothi News channel. Dr. I.V. Rao, the Vice-Chancellor of Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences was the Chief Guest.

4.On the 28th of September 2011, the seniors welcomed young and aspiring students into the field of Dentistry and celebrated the “Fresher’s Day”. The new batch was named by their seniors as the “Silver Stallions”. The freshers showed that they are in no way lesser to their seniors in presenting themselves to all others, by way of various cultural programmes.

5.On the 27th of September 2011, the University has taken initiative to increase the quality of Dental education and also to inculcate the habit of research in the minds of young researchers in Andhra Pradesh and organized the first “State level work shop on Research Methodology”. Our Institute was chosen to be the venue for such a very good cause. The Vice-Chancellor of Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, Dr. I.V. Rao garu graced the occasion along with the Registrar, Dr. T. Venugopala Rao garu. Eminent speakers in the field of Research methodology, Dr. K. Ranganathan, Dr. Uma Devi Krishna Mohan Rao & Dr. Rooban delivered the lectures.

Teacher's day was celebrated in the College Auditorium, on the 5th of September 2011, commemorating the birth day of Sri Sarvepalli Radha Krishnan. The 2008 Batch – Sparkling Crystals, has taken the initiative and felicitated their teachers.

The 24th of August 2011 is a hallmark of this year's academic journey of the Institute. Two important events were witnessed on the day. In the morning, on the 24th of August, the first Alumni association (PRERANA) meet was held at the college premises. This meet had brought together many of the alumni of the Institute, and shared their experiences. Many new ideas were also proposed to further strengthen the Alumni Association. view Photos.

In the evening, at 03:00 PM, on the 24th August 2011, the college celebrated its Graduation day, for which Dr. T. Venugopala Rao, the Registrar of Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences was invited as the Chief-Guest. On the occasion of "Oral Hygiene day", the 1st of August, Department of Periodontia, SIBAR Institute of Dental Sciences, in association with Indian Dental Association - Coastal Andhra Branch organized a rally in Guntur City to educate the masses about the importance of Oral hygiene by displaying banners, placards, and distributing pamphlets. Principal, Staff and around 100 Dental students participated in the rally.

Another such feather in the crown of SIBAR is the recent visit of the institute by Dr. Roberto Vianna, President – FDI, on the 1st of June 2011. The 31st of May is observed every year as the “World No Tobacco Day”, world-wide. On this day, the SIBAR Institute of Dental Sciences, which a regional center for Tobacco cessation, has taken an active part and organized a rally against the tobacco usage. view Photos.

Sibar institute of Dental Sciences, in association with Indian Dental Association and Sibar Dental Health $Research Foundation conducted a work shop on Tobacco Cessation programme for Health Professionals on 23/04/2011.

State level CDE Programme was conducted by the Dept. of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics on - "Smile Design & Hybrid Instrumentation in Endodontics" on the 8th of February 2011, which was jointly organized by the Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, A.P and University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey, NJ, USA. The Guest Lectures and Hands-on were conducted by Dr. Eileen Hoskin, DDS, and Dr. Craig S Hirchberg, DDS, who are the faculty at Department of Restorative Dentistry & Endodontics, New Jersey Dental School, UMDNJ. With great pride, the SIBAR Institute of Dental Sciences celebrated its 10 years of glory and gave us the - "SPOORTHI 2011" on the 29th of January which was well attended and a grand success.
